Why Man, Why?
I died laughing at the mall. My first time seeing these joints...Ew. Apparently, these atrocity's have been out for a while...February 1st to be exact. I'm not sure if its just me...But, I def. do NOT posses the audacity to adorn my feet with or even purchase these horrific sneakers.
Oh...&& their scented!

Who said it was okay for food industries to invest in making footwear or even apparel. The FDA needs to get on their job, ASAP!
Ridiculous.

I'll just stick to online shopping.

Fran.

Dance around the border like I'm Cassius Clay.

I'm so estatic.
You ask why??

Well, I can now legally drive. I now posses a provisional license!! I mean, I'm kinda late compared to everyone else my age. But, really who cares?! I can drive now...that's all that matters. The Summer of 2008 is looking quite properous. I wonder whats next to unfold. Maybe a new car?? Hmmm...We'll see.

Even the Pope had a G Class.

Incredible.

What ever happened to love letters. Nonetheless, Im digging this song. I LOVE texting && it calls to mind a few text message convos I might have had;)
Just Kidding.

Catch me later,
Frances.

nopoint whatsoever.

So, I watched the BET Awards...
I'll let you know how I felt about it later.

The reason for this irrelevant post:
While browsing over at Concreteloop; I stumbled upon this photo.

I mean, I love Raheem and all...but he is not the reason why I favor this photo. IDK...there is something about it that just wins me over. Perhaps its the Big Ass Boombox. Whatever. Point is...well there really isnt a point. I just like the photo!

I even went as far as editing the photo myself, to make it look 'cool-er.'

LMAO.
Well, I tried. Its not my fault. I blame wack ass Microsoft Office Picture Manager.

funny.

um bye,
fran.

let me be. please!

I HATE STUPID PEOPLE.
Think I'm harsh...then refrain from being stupid.
Thanks && Good Bye.

Maybe we can do this again,
Frances.

PS. Im thinking about dancing again. Wish me luck.

its ends tonite.

well, at least for me it does.

Lately, every where I've gone or everything I've read has something to do with the "deterioration" of Hip Hop. && in some shape or form Lil Wayne seems to either spur or become the butt of the discussion...some how.

Well, I just felt like I should set some shiit straight...not necessarily for you, more so for myself. I mean if you need some clarification and are stuck/confused as I am, feel free to read.

First, I must confess that I have always been a Lil Wayne fan[never groupie] since The Block is Hot, but I also must confess that I've found myself caught up in his recent hype. [ie. Carter 3] His gimmicks and clever lyrics only give us momentary gratitude. Never anything quite permanent...or anything useful--shiit that music is supposed to do for you!

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with talking about sex or how "great" you are or how many dead presidents your wallet is holding...blah blah...but do it well. Leave the catchy phrases till the hook[if any]...don't fill the entire song with them. Honestly, if there was so much substance in that one song...there really wouldnt be a need for all those catchy metaphors, similies, onomanapia's and shiit. I shouldn't be able to break your verses apart && have them stand alone as a bunch of fragments...there should be a story, a concrete topic. --I feel like its sort of like writing a paper[intro, thesis statement, topic sentence supporting details and conclusion] or maybe I'm being too literal...But I'm sure you get my point.

In my eyes a real MC is one who can tell a story, engage his or her audience without them ever having to experience what they've experienced. The audience/listener gets the privilege of stepping in the shoes of the MC through music. How effiecent that is, depends on the philosophy behind the music...what is the MC saying??

I'm not really sure as to whether Hip Hop is incarcerated or whatever, but I do know it has taken an ugly turn...I'm sure you too would agree, if you love && believe in real HipHop music.

Okay, I'm so over this topic && this long ass post.

Why not.

I mean this wont turn me into a Weezy Woman Hater.
But, now I really know what I'm in for when I decide to listen to 'Young Weezy Baby'...Nothing more Nothing Less.
Its arguable...but this is my opinion.

Adios.
Fran.

Dont you just hate it when everything is going so well; then something so small destroys the initial happiness you once possessed from everything going so well. ugh.

such is life I guess.

smh.

You've got to be kidding me.
I promised myself not to bombard my blog with a bunch of youtube videos.
Uh..oops.

There are a ga-gillion things wrong with this video. I'll leave it up to you, to figure out what they are. For now, I will just keep shaking my head in disgust.
I liked him better when he was "lil" Bow Wow. It's badd enough that is music is trash...ugh.

&& There's a big difference between hating and speaking the truth. Honestly, Get it together.

Adios,
Frances.

Bet that baby.

Dear Santa,
I know I'm kinda early. But, I decided that I needed time to compile my list of presents. No need to procrastinate. Right?

There's more where that came from.
[thanx to karmaloop && mondomedeusah]

This album is cool. Im not a fan of pharrell's singing.
Im sure I offended several, with that previous comment.
Sorry.

Love,
Frances.

An album to be reckoned with.

If you havent already.

I'm so serious.

-Fran.

I'll send you a postcard.

Stuff I've been meaning to post...

Here is what Diddy had to say about The Carter 3.

I wouldnt call The Carter 3 a classic; Diddy def. siced it. But the Album was pretty good. But, then again Diddy isnt a lyrical genius. [ie. I need a girl, Last night, etc] But, then again he knows talent. [ie. Mary, Biggie, 112, Danity Kane??] so yeah.

As far as Weezy goes. Either you love him or hate him. Its just that simple. I've heard mixed reviews about the Carter 3. Like I mentioned before, its a pretty good album. I mean, Weezy doesnt always "do it" for me...but there are times where I certainly believe he deserves recognition. Best Rapper Alive though??? ummm. naaaaa.
Most Sufficient Rapper Alive is more like it;)

My fav. tracks on the album are:
Mr. Carter
Shoot me down
Let the beat build
Comfortable[which is pretty old]

Seems like A Milli-on rappers felt the need to hop on this beat.
Hmmm. Listen.

You decide.
I got tired of hearing the words A milli consecutively; after The Pack. Speaking of the The Pack, their Madd trash!! I've actually seen them perform. No no no, I did not go out of my way to see them perform. It just so happens that they were the opening act for Gym Class Heroes, for TU's Homecoming. And, I arrived on time. So I was forced to undergo such cruelty.

Im so over this.

A friend of mine put me on to this.

What can I say...it's Jay!

Fran.

shaking hands with the Sun.

OUTSIDE+ME or YOU=DEATH.

Words can not explain the type of heat that has been exuding from the sun these past couple of days!I wish I could stay inside, but I cant:( All I know is that excessive deodorant is necessary and tons of water.

Speaking of hand shakes:

I find this to be sooo hilarious. Really, is it that freakin' serious?!
White America is trippin.

I was curious:

LMAO.

The Hustle never ceases.

Motivation is always needed.

is that not why we came? If not than why bother"-Jay Z

"life can change ya directions
even when you ain’t planned it
all you can do is handle it
the worst thing you could do is panic
use it to your advantage
avoid insanity manage to conquer every obstacle
make impossible possible
even when winnings illogical
losing is still far from optional"-TI

salivate.

I doubt you'll understand.

Yess, the pastries in France are sure to make your tastebuds chime,
but since when did a bite of these pastries ever leave one unsatisfied.
i've laid such discrepancies aside,
in attempt to validate this metaphor,
so sweetly hurled before my mouth.
a perplexing smirk overrides supple lips,
as I dwell in this pro-s-etry of truth.
rarely would give in, yet respond,
but the curvature of poetic words and meaning,
has urged me to set Shit Straight.
but before I rinse clean, let it be known that if you salivate,
best believe I regurgitate what's been within me for years.
such a situation has never been new to me,
but there comes a time where I must let my words down,
and let my brain stain the slate.
See, men are notorious for all knowing/ knowing all,
but as a wo-man, i've gotta speak.
yall dont know shit.
factitious lies never realize truth.
instead they rely on their eyes to remind them of what seems true.
in other words,
Drink Me.
Dont taste me.
for what you taste is like a 1st impression.
the arrangement of your tastebuds
can be rearranged.
it takes more than a bite to
experience divinity.
your better off chewing pop tarts.
your grasp of my self-worth is somewhat valid.
but your clasp of my-self
is far fetched.
i advise, that you recalculate those test results
and turn in something error free.
cause honestly...
You Dont Know Me.
like you think you do.

I wrote this awhile back, to a friend.
We have what we call poetry wars- to salivate validation. Hah.
Yess. Were lame but creatively lame.

Later,
Frances.

Obama that Hoe.

Seems like we've got this shit in the Bag.
Ow.

I mean he hasnt officially won yet, but I doubt McCain can stand a chance. Obviously, I am a Barack Obama supporter; but on the real, Hillary or Obama would suit me just fine. Change is what we need and I honestly believe that both candidates will bring just that. But, I just feel as though Obama has us [the young generation in mind] more than does Mrs. Clinton. I could be wrong but that's how I feel.

God Bless America!
"They said this Day would never come."
They spoke to soon. Hah.

Boozilla Baby.

A friend of mine got a chance to attend the Erykah Badu and Roots concert in DC. As she was rambling on about Erykah's wonderful performance and always creative get up. She mentioned a segment of the concert where Erykah told her fans to "love themselves." Simple words that hold alot of meaning. She actually said this, after hearing a bunch of her fans yelling: "I love you Erykah." But, instead of saying I love you too, she said "Love yourself and maybe this world would be a better place."

Word.
I mean alot of people including myself [at times] get so caught up with admiring others we forget to admire ourselves. I mean, no need to be narcissistic but you know...Know Your Self Worth. Very important.
I could go & on & on, but that's not the point. The point is learning to acknowledge oneself before taking the time out to acknowledge or admire another.

"Love yourself, before you love another."-Lucille Ball
It's really that simple && its a helluva start.
Try it :)

Get into this.
