&& the radio keeps playin.
On && On && On
the same song all day long.
the sweet melodic sounds I once heard
no longer drown my ear,
instead they choke rather than stroke the drums of my ear lobe.
my tympanic membrane shrills with annoyance
&& then i begin to panic.
Hip Hop just passed, Now Music is decaying.
the people we call artist, have gone on hiatus.
fled their day jobs,
&& left a bunch of notes for amateurs to fumble with.
the amateurs proceed with good intention
but in reality aren't qualified.
underqualified; to give us what we once had,
what we once heard,
what we now urge.
there's evidence:
these underdeveloped,
watered down,
over-sexed lyrics,
fill our ears, probe our minds
yet leaving us with no substance.
therefore, we lack thereof.
the absence of substance,
leaves us starving.
hunger ridden.
seeking a filler;
we fill our insides with junk to suffice.
&& when the beat dropped,
so did our faculty.
Our speakers ruptured by noise making.
No need to have that old thing back
I want that new thing with meaning.
cant stand the same shiit.
let alone all day long.
Make change, make haste.
Progress don't regress.
I need jams to alleviate this stress.
the unhealthy rubbish has left me in bad shape.
I want to ride every wavelength of every rhythm,
tremble when the treble bass kicks in
&& engage with the soul of the jam
as my soul gets whisked away in pure bliss.
rather than devoured by ignorance.
&& maybe of this were to happen,
just maybe...
then no one would care what soulja boy has to tell us
the sound of the radio would no longer be an irritating sonance
mainstream would no longer make our bloodstream boil
in all actuality,
we would be full,
Filled.
but in the meantime
we'll be clothed in black,soon to be widows
bobbing our heads to this knick knack paddy wack shiit.
unknowingly knowing that music is slowly slipping away.
&& if you don't belive me
go ahead,turn on the radio
listen&see
the sounds of
its&our
Demise.
This happens to be my second poem on here. I'm not a frequent writer. I only write when I'm provoked, inspired...yadda yadda yadda. Basically, I write when I Want To.
Uhh sorry for the length..things happen.
Hope you enjoyed.

I also love the entire concept of the mixtape...the whole Seinfeld theme//with the mixtape cover. And, the title is too cute, it makes you want to listen to what he has to say. [The #14 Skit is hilarious...by the way.]
Hah.
